The memorial service for Maj. R. Sterling Norton will be held Friday aboard MCAS Miramar at 10:30 a.m. The ceremony will be followed by a procession to the cemetery at 1 p.m.

Norton, a pilot with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 232, was killed as a result of an F/A-18C Hornet crash during a training mission in the vicinity of Marine Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms, California, July 28, 2016.
