MCAS Miramar Change of Command

The commanding officer of Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Col. John P. Farnam, is scheduled to relinquish command to Col. Jason G. Woodworth in a ceremony at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, California, Friday, at 10 a.m.

Farnam took command of MCAS Miramar July 25, 2012. Under his command, MCAS Miramar successfully maintained and operated an air field and support facilities to support the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing and to enable the combat readiness of the operating forces and other commands. Under Farnam’s leadership, the command excelled in water and energy conservation efforts and remained responsible stewards of resources, facilities and community relationships. Farnam is scheduled to
retire from the Marine Corps following the change of command.

Woodworth is scheduled to assume the position of commanding officer of MCAS Miramar after his assignment at the Royal College of Defence Studies in London, England.
