MARINE CORPS AIR STATION MIRAMAR, Calif. -- The commanding officer of Marine Aircraft Group 11, Col. Rick A. Uribe, is scheduled to relinquish command to Col. William H. Swan in a ceremony at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, California, Friday, at 2 p.m.
Uribe took command of MAG-11 June 28, 2013. Under his command, MAG-11 trained, equipped and deployed numerous combat elements in support of global operations to include Marine Expeditionary Units, Unit Deployment Programs, Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force Crisis Response and other contingency operations. His next duty assignment will be at Headquarters Marine Corps, Washington D.C.
Swan is scheduled to assume the position of commanding officer of MAG-11 after serving as the Deputy Division Chief, Forces Division, within the Joint Staff’s J-8 Directorate.
Marine Aircraft Group 11 includes five operational flying squadrons, one Fleet Replacement Squadron, one Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron, and one Marine Wing Support Squadron.
