MCAS Miramar Welcomes Community to the Flight Line 5k
2 May 2022

MARINE CORPS AIR STATION MIRAMAR, Calif. (April XX, 2022) – The commanding officer of Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Col. Thomas M. Bedell, invite the San Diego community and running enthusiasts to join us on June 25th, at 9:00 am to run the “Wings Over Miramar – Flight line 5k.

Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is hosting the first “Wings Over Miramar – Flight Line 5k” which is open to the public for registration. Come and run alongside the Marines of MCAS Miramar with music, local food, and some of the aircraft based in San Diego up close.

“Much like our Air Show this year, we would like to invite our fellow San Diegans to enjoy our flight line in a slightly different way come June 25th. MCCS is excited to lead the way in reopening the base to our neighbors during the Flight Line 5k, and this rare opportunity to run in the same place that hosts the largest Marine Air Wing. We look forward to this occasion and hope to see you there,” said Bedell.

Registration begins today, April XX, with limited availability. This is a rare opportunity to see what MCAS Miramar brings to the Department of Defense and how it enables missions worldwide. Tickets start at 25$ for adults, 15$ for kids 12 years and under, and 20$ for active duty members. Bring your families and friends to one of the most storied air stations in the United States.

Media outlets are highly encouraged to join us. For more media information and coordination please reach out to the MCAS Miramar Communication Strategy and Operations office.
