Charles Marty, nephew of Staff Sgt. Jacob Marty, a Marine killed in action during World War II, views a display case in Marine Air Control Group (MACG) 38’s heritage room aboard Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif., March 16. Staff Sgt. Jacob Marty served with Air Warning Squadron (AWS) 1, a unit that was affiliated with MACG-38, and was the first Marine killed in action who was associated that was ith the unit.
