A Corpsman applies a prosthetic wound to a Marine’s head to simulate an injury before an active shooter exercise, called “Operation Social Fury” aboard Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif., Aug. 27. The scenario was planned to seem as real as possible to first responders to better gauge their reactions.
