JoEllen Kassebaum, a botanist with the installations environmental office works with a bloom in the office’s garden aboard Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif., Jan. 29. The garden located around the installation’s environmental office where botanists tend plants in differing micro climates. This allows them to see how plants interact with each other and certain conditions in certain settings while giving Marines, families and guests a chance to see and learn about these precious plants.
