Major Patrick S. Estvold

Major Patrick Estvold was born in Minot, North Dakota on 24 June 1983. He was raised in Parshall, North Dakota and graduated from Parshall High School in May 2001. He attended the University of North Dakota and graduated in 2005, followed by Central Michigan University, where he graduated in 2007.


Major Estvold attended Officer Candidate School in January of 2008 and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in March of 2008. He attended The Basic School from 2008 to 2009. While waiting to begin MOS school he served as the Traumatic Servicemembers' Group Life Insurance Officer for Wounded Warrior Regiment from April to July of 2009. He began the Basic Communications Officer Course in Quantico, VA in July of 2009 and graduated in December of 2009.


Following graduation, 2nd Lieutenant Estvold's first assignment was to Marine Aircraft Group 39, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing in Camp Pendleton, CA. He served as the S-6 as well as the Aviation Logistics Information Management Systems Department Officer-In-Charge for Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 39. In March of 2010 he was promoted to First Lieutenant. In April of 2012 he was promoted to Captain.


In July of 2012, Captain Estvold reported to Marine Forces Command, Norfolk, VA and served as the Amphibious C4 Operations Officer. He served on the Crisis Action Team in support of Marine Corps Forces Northern Command's response to relief operations for Hurricane Sandy in New York City.


Captain Estvold reported to Communications Company, Headquarters Regiment, 1st Marine Logistics Group, Camp Pendleton, CA in July of 2015 and served as the Operations Officer. In June of 2016 he took command of Food Service Company, Headquarters Regiment, 1st Marine Logistics Group. Upon relinquishing command in June of 2017 he was assigned as the Network Operations Officer-in-Charge for the 1st Marine Logistics Group G-6. He was promoted to his current rank of Major in February of 2018.


In July of 2018, Major Estvold reported to 3rd Marine Expeditionary Brigade, Okinawa, Japan and was assigned as the Future Operations Officer for the G-6. In 2019 he was assigned as the Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff G-6 as well as Current Operations Officer. During this time he was also assigned to the headquarters element for the Alert Contingency MAGTF and deployed to the Philippines for various operations and exercises.


In July of 2021, Major Estvold took command of Headquarters and Service Company, Headquarters and Support Battalion, Marine Corps Installations West, Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, CA. In August of 2022 he relinquished command and was assigned as the operations officer for Marine Corps Installations West G6. In May 2024, Major Estvold received orders to report to Marine Corps Air Station Miramar and is to serve as the Deputy S-6. In February 2025, he assumed the duties of Executive Officer for Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron.


His awards included the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal with gold star in lieu of third award, and Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal with gold star in lieu of second award.


He is married to the former Krista Ball from Chico, CA and has two sons, Anders (7) and Aksel (6), and a daughter, Ava (4).
