Sergeant Major Everson K. Kaaihue

Sergeant Major Everson Kaaihue was born on 9 May 1983 in Honolulu, HI. He enlisted in the Marine Corps on 15 October 2001 and attended recruit training at MCRD San Diego, CA. Upon completion, he attended Marine Combat Training, Camp Pendleton, CA. Following MCT, he reported to Marine Corps Communications Electronics School, 29 Palms, CA and upon graduating received the MOS of 0612 Field Wireman.

In April of 2002, he reported to 9th Communications Battalion aboard Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton, CA before deploying to Kuwait in October of 2002 in support of Operation Enduring and Iraqi Freedom. Upon returning from deployment, he was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Sergeant in May of 2004 before deploying to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom II.

After returning from Iraq, he was reassigned to 9th Communications Battalion, marksmanship training unit and obtained a secondary MOS of 8531. Throughout this period, he served as the lead primary marksmanship instructor on Wilcox rifle range.

In January 2006, he received orders to Drill Instructor School 2-06, MCRD, San Diego, CA. Upon completion, he was assigned to Company L, where he served as a drill instructor and senior drill instructor.

In April 2009, he reported to Headquarters Battery, 10th Marine Regiment, Camp Lejeune, NC where he served as the regimental wire chief and platoon sergeant. During this time, he was later assigned to Field Supply Maintenance Analysis Office-East where he served as the Global Combat Support Systems Training Coordinator.

In March 2012, he reported to 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, Camp Lejeune, NC where he served as the battalion wire chief, platoon sergeant and later deployed with the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) as a member of the Battalion Landing Team (BLT 1/6).

In April 2015 he received orders to Prairie View A&M University where he served as the Assistant Marine Officer Instructor from 2015-2018 augmenting and training officer candidates in Quantico, VA during the 2015-2016 summer sessions.

In June 2018, he executed orders to 7th Marine Regiment, Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center (MCAGCC), 29 Palms, CA where he held the billet as the Networking Chief and Platoon Sergeant.

In January 2019, he was promoted to First Sergeant and reported to Headquarters Battalion, MCAGCC where he served as the First Sergeant for Company A.

In May 2020, he was reassigned to 3d Battalion 4th Marines, 7th Marine Regiment (REIN) where he served as the Company First Sergeant for Headquarters & Service Company. During this time, he deployed to Okinawa, Japan for the 31st MEU, as a member of BLT 3/4.

In November 2021, he was assigned to 3d Assault Amphibian Battalion, 1st Marine Division where he served as the Company First Sergeant for Company A. During this time, he participated in Bright Star 2023, a Joint Service and multilateral exercise in Egypt. 
In December 2023, Sgt. Maj. Kaaihue was promoted to his current rank and transferred to Headquarters & Headquarters Squadron, MCAS Miramar.

SgtMaj Kaaihue successfully completed an Associate's Degree in General Studies with National University. Additionally, he is a graduate of the Air Force Senior Noncommissioned Officer's Academy where he received a Certificate of Achievement in Military Leadership via Palomar College. His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal in lieu of 2nd award, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal in lieu of 3rd award.
