MCAS MIRAMAR EMERGENCY OPERATIONS CENTER
Installation Protection is responsible for maintaining the Emergency Operations Center (EOC). The EOC is activated in response to a crisis at or around MCAS Miramar.
Hours of operation vary depending on duration of the incident. Upon activation, the Senior Watch Officer can be reached by emailing miramareoc.swo.fct@usmc.mil, or calling 959-307-8537.
INDIVIDUAL EMERGENCY ACTION PLAN (IEAP)
The IEAP is a quick reference guide for responding to the hazards and threats considered most likely to impact Miramar personnel. The San Diego area is prone to threats and hazards, both natural and man-made. The most critical part of any response is to have a plan of action and be mentally prepared to execute it. A simple plan is better than no plan at all. Download the IEAP here.
EMERGENCY NOTIFICATIONS
During an emergency, follow instructions issued from the Emergency Operations Center and 911 Dispatch. The following systems can be used during an emergency:

ALERT! Mass Notification System
Used for emergency notifications via computer pop-up alerts, email, text, and phone calls. MARADMIN 062-26 directs all primary personnel to enter their contact data, including after hours (Cell Phone/Text). Personnel with emails ending in “.MIL” can enter their data via DOD.ALERT.MIL and follow the instructions in the MNS Transition Workforce Notification MCAS Miramar.

System installed to provide real-time information or instructions to outdoor areas.

Flu Information
The following preventative measures should be implemented to prevent the spread of influenza-like illnesses:
A. Maintain good hygiene and a healthy lifestyle.
B. Wash hands often and well. use warm water and soap and lather well for at least 30 seconds.
C. If soap and water are not available, an alcohol-based sanitizer may be used.
D. Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue or your elbow when coughing or sneezing.
E. Do not touch eyes, nose, or mouth. germs spread that way.
F. Try to avoid contact with sick people.
G. Marines/civilians/contractors who become sick, contact their chain of command to request to stay home.
H. Provide and fully utilize hand washing facilities near berthing and other mass gathering areas.
I. Be alert for personnel with fever, cough or sore throat.
J. To the extent feasible, keep these personnel separated from others until cleared by a health care provider.
K. Consider restricting non-essential travel to areas with known outbreaks.
L. Clean workspaces daily with clorox wipes (desk, doorknobs, telephones, etc).
All personnel, dependents, and retirees should receive their flu shots; more information can be found at the Naval Medical Center San Diego webpage http://www.med.navy.mil/sites/nmcsd/Pages/fluvaccines.aspx.
The CDC web site http://gis.cdc.gov/grasp/fluview/main.html depicts areas that are currently affected with ILI.
EAGLE EYES PROGRAM
Eagle Eyes is a Community Suspicious Activity Reporting effort designed to allow the Miramar community a way to report suspicious activity they witness happening in or around the installation.
To help facilitate this, Community members can report suspicious activity either by calling the MCI-West Eagle Eyes Tip-Line at 1-877-356-EYES (3937) or report via the Official Suspicious Activity Reporting website of the Marine Corps: https://usmceagleeyes.org/index.html
In addition the following link has a Eagle Eyes Flyer with a suspicious activity report (SAR) form on the reverse that can be downloaded here.
The Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) should be given to the Miramar Military Police Desk Sergeant at Bldg #7117.
