FY17014 - U.S. Air Force squadron to conduct training at MCAS Miramar
18 Aug 2017

F-35As from the 62nd Fighter Squadron, 56th Operations Group, 56th Fighter Wing, are scheduled to conduct training here, Aug. 21 to 30.

The squadron, based out of Luke Air Force Base, Arizona, will support the Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group (TRCSG) Composite Training Unit Exercise (COMPTUEX), the final work-up phase prior to the strike group’s deployment scheduled later this year.

COMPTUEX tests the strike group's deployment readiness by testing command and control functions, crew safety evolutions, search and rescue operations, damage control testing and operational capabilities of a carrier strike group, ultimately certifying the TRCSG for deployment.

For more information regarding TRCSG, please contact 3rd Fleet Public Affairs at (619) 767-4383.
