Maj. Misty Posey, plans officer for the Manpower Integration Branch, gave a presentation about the U.S. Marine Corps Integration Education Plan to leaders aboard Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, California, June 9 to 10.

Maj. Misty Posey traveled to various bases throughout the Marine Corps giving classes to Marine Corps leadership to answer questions and clear misconceptions about integrating females into combat roles.

“In this class we’re talking about how we’re going to integrate, not whether or not we should, because that decision has already been made,” said Posey. “It should be a conversation from the leaders to their Marines; we just want them to be prepared for the change.”

Integrating the remaining military occupational specialities and units impacts the entire Marine Corps. The main mission of the U.S. Marine Corps Integration Education Plans is to inform Marines on the Department of Defense and Marine Corps policy changes, and to answer questions and correct misinformation, according to Posey.
