MCAS MIRAMAR, Calif -- During the training, Marines conducted classroom education and multiple practical application scenarios to become more knowledgeable on how to mitigate chlorine leaks, ammonia, hydrochloric acid and other types of HAZMAT.
“This is the next step of actual offensive reactions to an emergency,” said Sgt. Brandon Werth, Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting crew chief. “It is extremely important for MCAS Miramar ARFF to go through this training because our billet is the HAZMAT team for the entire base.”
